Donna Emma: A Love Letter to the Amalfi Coast

Donna Emma: A Love Letter to the Amalfi Coast

Where memory, landscape, and taste come together in a new chapter of Mediterranean fine dining.

Why is the Amalfi Coast considered one of the most inspiring territories for Mediterranean fine dining?
Because here, cuisine is not built around technique alone, but around memory, ingredients shaped by the land, and a deep emotional bond with place. Donna Emma, the signature restaurant of Hotel Miramalfi, embodies this philosophy—transforming the flavors of Amalfi into an intimate, contemporary culinary narrative.

Where It All Began: A Name, a Legacy

Donna Emma is named after Emma, one of the founders of the hotel and a beloved family matriarch whose kitchen was once the emotional heart of the Miramalfi household. Her cooking was never about excess, but about respect: for ingredients, for seasons, and for the people gathered around the table.
Though time has moved forward, her spirit remains the guiding force behind the restaurant’s philosophy. Today, that legacy is carried on by our Executive Chef and culinary team, who reinterpret tradition through a refined, modern lens—never erasing the past, but allowing it to evolve.

The Essence of the Land

At Donna Emma, every dish begins with the territory.
Sun-ripened datterino and piennolo tomatoes, fresh ricotta, local cheeses, and prized mozzarella di bufala arrive daily, each carrying the character of Campania. Handmade pasta and Gragnano IGP formats provide structure and depth, designed to honor the simplicity of the sauces they hold.
Among these ingredients, one symbol stands above all: the Sfusato Amalfitano lemon. With its thick peel, intense aroma, and delicate acidity, it is more than a citrus fruit—it is the golden thread that ties together sweet and savory, land and sea, tradition and innovation. In fine dining, the sfusato becomes a seasoning of identity, unmistakably Amalfi.

Whether choosing à la carte or a curated tasting journey, the experience is designed as a dialogue between the plate and the landscape beyond the terrace.

The Sea as Our Muse

Each morning, local fishermen deliver the freshest catch from the Tyrrhenian Sea. Here, seafood is treated with restraint and reverence—never masked, never forced.
In the kitchen, the sea speaks softly but clearly: through raw preparations, gentle cooking methods, and pairings that enhance rather than dominate. The result is a cuisine that feels immediate, honest, and deeply connected to Amalfi’s maritime soul.

A New Chapter: Donna Emma 2026

During the winter season, Donna Emma enters an important phase of transformation. The restaurant is undergoing a significant renovation led by renowned architect Antonio Girardi, whose vision reimagines the dining room as a contemporary Mediterranean space—elegant, light-filled, and in constant dialogue with the horizon.
In 2026, Guests will discover a renewed atmosphere where architecture, light, and materiality enhance the sensory journey, without ever overshadowing what matters most: the food, the view, and the emotion of being here.

Timeless Hospitality

As evening falls over Amalfi and the coast is bathed in golden light, Donna Emma becomes a place suspended in time. Soft piano melodies accompany dinner, while the service—warm, precise, and genuinely attentive—reflects the values of a family-run hotel where hospitality is personal, never scripted.
Every Guest is welcomed not as a visitor, but as part of the story.

Donna Emma is not simply a restaurant.
It is a love letter—to Amalfi, to memory, to ingredients shaped by sun and sea, and to a way of dining where emotion is the most refined luxury of all.
